WHO IS
Tara Hutton?

Tara is a wife, a mom to three biological young men and her two adoptive daughters, and a relentless searcher. Her background as a teacher and life experience gained through her own navigation of the foster care and adoptive worlds culminated in the birth of Mama’s Well.

Tara knows first hand the need for real-life strategies and solutions that simultaneously address the needs of parent and child. “When Mama’s well, everyone’s well” she says. “We’ve all heard that, and it couldn’t be more true than in situations where we’re parenting children with extenuating circumstances. I can’t give what I don’t have, and Mama’s Well is place where I can tap in to things I need.”

Tara’s mission is to bring awareness to the role that trauma plays in our children’s behavior and reminds parents that healing always begins with them. As a foster, now adoptive mother, she knows first hand the weariness that comes with raising children, especially children from difficult circumstances. She is determined to bring encouragement and comfort to those who are feeling hopeless and alone. She longs to invite mothers to embrace compassionate self care as a cornerstone for healthy parenting.
