The title almost sounds like an oxymoron right? How can something be broken and deeply connected?
The truth is, that it is in the acknowledgement of our own brokenness that we can connect the most deeply with others. In our own brokenness we find the humility, empathy, and understanding we need to truly relate to another’s suffering. And where could that be needed more than in the lives of children from hard places?
The most tempting thing to do in the face of anyones brokenness is to try to “fix” them. While there are many motivations for this desire, some good and some not, the universal truth stands. Healthy connection helps develop healthy individuals.
This week on the Mama’s Well Podcast, we discuss how brokenness allows for deeper connection with our children, spouses, and the world around us.
